Access to the trading simulation product (“Lime Trading Demo”) is provided to individuals who provide the required information and agree to the following terms and conditions:
Terms:
Trading using the Lime Trading Demo application is “paper trading,” meaning while the user is experiencing trading in the equities market, there is no capital risk (and no potential to profit from any trading).
While “paper trading” in the Lime Trading Demo allows the user to test a trading system and/or trading strategy, it does not necessarily provide the user with a true experience of how they would react were they to be trading their own capital in the live market.
Any simulated profits and losses using the Lime Trading Demo should not be considered a complete picture of trading successes or failures.
Market data is only provided by one source and the potential costs related to live trading, such as margin, extended hours trading as well as applicable fees, such as regulatory, market data, service, commissions, or other fees, are not reflected in the simulation environment.
Users do not deposit any cash or securities, and any cash and securities reflected in the Lime Trading Demo are provide for demonstration purposes only.
Only users located in jurisdictions where the Lime Trading Demo application is permitted, and are at least eighteen years old, are allowed to open a “paper trading” account.
Conditions:
Asset Classes Available – Currently, only U.S. equities are eligible for the Lime Trading Demo program.
Hours of Operation – Users may enter “paper trades” from 9:30 a.m. ET until 4:00 p.m. ET.
Market Data Used – Only live CBOE market data is available in the simulation environment.
Users are limited to thirty-days of live market data from the CBOE Exchange.
Once a user has completed their thirty-day trial, the market data feed will be terminated.
Only one trial is permitted for each user.
Account Setup and Margin – The Lime Trading Demo simulation accounts are set up as margin accounts, with $100,000 in simulated cash and $200,000 simulated open buying power.
Trade Settlements and Corporate Actions – The Lime Trading Demo simulation environment does not provide settlement or corporate action data. Any “paper trades” are considered as settled upon the entry and acceptance of the order, and any modifications to the equities purchase are not reflected (i.e., stock splits, dividends, etc.).
Transition to Live Trading – Should a user want to transition to a live trading account, they would need to provide the same documentation required to open a live trading account with Lime Trading.
Trading Modifications – If the user creates certain code for trading models in the Lime Trading Demo environment, such models should be available in the live trading environment, should the user open a live trading account with Lime Trading.
Login and Password - Information provided should not be shared with any other parties, unless user has authorized them to access the system using user’s login information. Users are reminded to change their login and password information, should they establish a live trading account.
